Your coach has invited you to the team on Sideline. Here is what happens next and where everything lives once you are in.
1. Accept the invitation
You will get an email from team@sidelinemoments.com with a temporary password. It is good for seven days. If your coach shared an invite link instead, open it and ask to join first; the email comes once a coach approves you (how the invite link works).
- Go to app.sidelinemoments.com and select Sign in.
- Enter your email and the temporary password, exactly as shown. It is case sensitive.
- Choose your own password. At least 8 characters; that is the only rule.
- Add your name, and an optional phone number that only your team's coaches can see.
- Tap your player's number on each team. Pick more than one if you have more than one kid on the team.
If the email is not in your inbox, check spam and promotions. If it has expired, ask your coach to resend it. More in Signing in, invitations, and passwords.
2. Find your way around
Once you are in, the menu across the top is the whole app:
- Games lists every game the coach has clipped. Open one to watch its plays.
- Players is every kid on the roster, with how many clips, awards, and photos each has. Open your player for their reel.
- Awards is the season board: which stickers each player has earned, and a per-game view.
- Photos is the team's shared photo drop. Anyone on the team can add photos and tag who is in them.
- Your name, top right, opens your profile.
If you are on more than one team, the team name at the top left switches between them.
3. Watch a game
Open a game and it plays clip by clip. Next and Prev move between plays, or use the arrow keys. Each clip loops until you move on, so you can watch a play as many times as you like. Under the video there are controls to zoom in, step one frame at a time, jump five seconds, and slow the play down. Details in Watching clips.
4. Watch your kid's reel
Open Players and pick your player. Their page shows every award they have earned, every clip they are tagged in, newest game first, and every photo they are in. Play reel runs all their clips back to back.
A player only appears on their reel once someone has tagged them in the clip. You can do that yourself: open the game, go to a clip, and tap your player's number under In this clip. Awards are given by the coaches.
5. Add photos
Took pictures at the game? Drop them on the Photos page, straight from your phone if you like, then tap the jersey numbers of the kids in each one. Tagged photos show up on each player's page. See Team photos.
