Privacy policy
Last updated October 12, 2026
Sideline is a place for a youth team’s adults to share game clips and photos of their kids. That makes privacy the product, not a policy page. This is what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to make it go away.
Who we are
Sideline Moments is operated by FigTree Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“Sideline”, “we”, “us”), which runs sidelinemoments.com and the Sideline web application. You can reach us at team@sidelinemoments.com. We are based in Texas, United States, and the service runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
Children
Children do not use Sideline. Every account belongs to an adult: a coach, a league administrator, or a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 13, and children cannot create accounts, log in, post, or message. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, email us and we will delete it.
Sideline does contain video and photos of children, uploaded by the adults on their team, along with jersey numbers and, where a coach adds them, first and last names on the roster. This footage is shared only with the adults on that team (see “Who can see what”) and is subject to the consent the league or coach obtained from families, typically in the registration waiver.
What we collect
Account information
Email address, name, an optional phone number, the team(s) you belong to, your role (coach, parent, admin), and which players you are a parent or guardian of. Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito; we never see them.
Team content
Roster entries (jersey number and name), games, video clips, photos, tags (which players are in a clip or photo, and any award), and the play marks a coach makes while clipping. The full game recording is not uploaded; clipping happens in the coach’s browser and only the clipped plays are sent to us.
Technical information
Standard web server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps) kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting. The marketing site sets no cookies. The application stores your sign-in session and display preferences (such as light or dark theme) in your browser’s local storage; the Sideline phone app keeps your sign-in in the phone’s secure storage (the iOS Keychain) and keeps videos you pick for upload in the app’s own storage until they’re uploaded.
Contact forms
If you write to us through the site, we receive what you typed and your email address, and we use it only to reply.
What we do not do
- No facial recognition or biometric processing of any kind.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no sale or rental of personal information, ever.
- No public feed. Nothing on Sideline can be found by search engines or by people outside the team.
- No analytics trackers on the application. If we add basic, privacy-respecting usage measurement to the marketing site, this policy will say so.
- Inside the app we count activity per team (for example uploads, tags and pages opened) in our own systems to run and improve the service. These counts are never sold or shared, and there are no third-party trackers.
Who can see what
Each team is a private space. Its clips, photos, roster, and awards are visible only to the coaches of that team, the parents the coach or league has invited to it, and, for a league team, the league’s administrators, who can view it but not change it. Coaches can additionally see members’ names, phone numbers if provided, and which players they are parents of, so they can reach families. Sideline administrators (our staff) can access team content to provide support, and any “view as” access by an administrator is logged.
Video and photos are served through short-lived signed links that only work for a signed-in member of the team. Downloaded files are outside our control; please share them the way you’d share any photo of someone else’s child.
How we use information
To run the service: showing your team its content, sending invitations and password resets, and answering your questions. To keep it safe: detecting abuse and fixing problems. That is the list. We do not use team content to train machine-learning models.
Retention and deletion
- When a team’s season ends, uploading and tagging close 30 days later and the team becomes read-only. Everyone on the team can still watch and download its content for 12 months after the season ends; if the league or team signs up for another season, past seasons are kept a further 12 months.
- If no one renews, we email the team’s families before removal and delete the team’s content within 30 days after those 12 months, unless the league asks for an export first.
- Any parent or guardian can ask for clips, photos, or roster entries of their child to be removed at any time; we remove them promptly. Parents can delete photos they uploaded themselves.
- You can delete your account yourself at any time, in the app or on the website (Your profile, then Delete your account; see Delete your account), or ask us to. That removes your sign-in, profile and team memberships; clips and photos you uploaded stay with the team without your name or email on them.
- Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and then discarded.
Service providers
Sideline runs on Amazon Web Services (storage, database, video delivery, email, and sign-in), which processes data on our behalf under its own privacy and security commitments. We use no other third-party processors for team content.
Your choices and rights
You can see and correct your account information in the app. You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing team@sidelinemoments.com. We will answer within 30 days. Residents of states with privacy laws (such as California, Texas, Virginia, and Colorado) have these rights by law; we extend them to everyone.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit. Content is stored in private storage that is not reachable without a signed link. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will tell you as the law requires and as quickly as we can.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will email account holders and update the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
